Great Place to Work Certification recognizes employers who create an outstanding employee experience. Because employee feedback through surveys and independent analysis determine the scores, certification helps job seekers identify which companies genuinely offer a great company culture. Fortune magazine then uses that same methodology and data to award its Fortune Best Workplaces in Texas. The HT Group won in the small and medium business category.
“Using our proprietary Trust Index™ survey, we measure the core of what we know creates great workplaces — key behaviors that drive trust in management, connection with colleagues, and loyalty to the company,” Forbes explains. “Employees tell us whether or not leaders are accessible, if they communicate honestly and clearly, and if their actions match their words. They tell us if they feel respected as individuals, if they receive support for their well-being and personal development, and if they have opportunities to contribute, and appreciation for their work. They tell us whether they believe their company is fair related to pay, profits, promotions, recognition, favoritism, and opportunities for growth. They tell us if they are proud of their work, their team, and their company, if they feel they make a difference, and if their work is meaningful. And they tell us if they enjoy the people they work with, if they feel cared for, and if they can be themselves.”
Here’s how The HT Group ranked:
It’s always an honor to receive these awards, in particular, because they’re based so heavily on employee feedback,” says The HT Group President Chad Macy.
The HT Group has always done things differently, which means leading with core values before it was the trend.
“We wanted HT to be a fun, totally transparent and ethical place to work,” explains The HT Group Founder and CEO Mark Turpin, as he reflects on the firm’s more than 20 years in the staffing, search, and human resource management industry. “We knew if we could achieve that, we would always be a place where winners want to work.”
“We truly live out our core values daily,” Macy continues. “Individuals are recognized not only for their achievements but also for extraordinary examples of living out our core values. We are a company that cares for our people, and we have a lot of fun while working! We’re dedicated to ensuring the right people are in the right roles, even if that means transferring to other groups. It’s a lot of fun when someone has earned a promotion and the entire company celebrates with them!”
It’s a formula that continues to work. Macy reports that The HT Group is having another record year, along with two recent key promotions: Vice President of Operations Anne Walker and Vice President of Staffing & Professional Services Stephanie Biddy.
“Everything is about the people. We always say our candidates and clients come first, but we can’t take care of them without, foremost, taking care of our staff,” adds Macy. “We’re known for our excellent customer service inside and outside the company, but that also means we’re not afraid to walk away from clients and candidates that aren’t the right fit. Rewarding great behaviors and striking that balance makes us a place where employees and candidates want to work and a company with which clients want to partner.”
