Workday Financials Integration Specialist
The Workday Financials Integration Specialist is a technical expert responsible for designing, developing, and deploying complex integrations between Workday Financials and various third-party systems within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role requires strong independent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize effectively, ensuring critical financial data flows seamlessly across the organization. Acting as a bridge between accounting requirements and technical execution, the Specialist delivers high-quality service aligned with organizational goals around operational excellence and digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities Integration Architecture & Development
- Lead the full lifecycle of integrations, including design, development, testing, and deployment using Workday Studio, EIB, and Cloud Connectors
- Build and maintain sophisticated integrations leveraging Workday tools and frameworks
System Optimization
- Evaluate and enhance existing integrations to improve performance, scalability, and data accuracy
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Finance, IT, and third-party vendors to translate business needs into technical solutions
Compliance & Security
- Ensure all financial data integrations comply with security standards, internal controls, and audit requirements
- Maintain appropriate access controls aligned with the principle of least privilege
Release & Change Management
- Assess and manage the impact of Workday bi-annual releases on integrations
- Ensure continuity of critical financial processes with minimal disruption
Technical Development
- Develop and maintain complex XSLT transformations and calculated fields to meet external system requirements
- Build and support API-based integrations using Workday Web Services (WWS) and REST/SOAP protocols
Monitoring & Support
- Monitor integration events, troubleshoot issues, and resolve failures proactively to ensure business continuity
Process Automation
- Collaborate with Finance to automate manual processes such as journal entries, bank files, and invoice processing
Testing & Documentation
- Perform unit testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Document technical designs, data mappings, and operational procedures
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience developing Workday integrations, with a focus on Financials (e.g., FDM, Accounts Payable, General Ledger)
- Strong experience with Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and web services
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
