Vice President of Information Technology (New York City)
A growing, fast-paced organization is seeking a strategic and hands-on Vice President of Information Technology to lead enterprise technology initiatives and ensure IT capabilities support long-term business objectives. This executive will partner closely with senior leadership to develop and execute the organization’s technology roadmap while overseeing day-to-day IT operations, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business applications.
This role also serves as the primary relationship manager for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and other strategic technology partners, ensuring high-quality service delivery, operational efficiency, and alignment with business priorities. The ideal candidate combines executive leadership with strong technical knowledge, financial acumen, and the ability to drive technology innovation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy and multi-year technology roadmap aligned with organizational goals and future growth.
- Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities for technology modernization, digital transformation, and operational improvement.
- Own the annual IT operating and capital budgets, ensuring responsible financial management, cost optimization, and measurable return on technology investments.
- Oversee enterprise IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, cloud platforms, endpoint computing, and overall system availability and performance.
- Lead the strategy, implementation, integration, and ongoing support of core business applications and enterprise technology platforms.
- Evaluate and implement AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve business processes, productivity, and decision-making.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Managed Service Providers (MSPs), Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs), and other technology vendors, overseeing service delivery, contract negotiations, performance management, and strategic partnerships.
- Direct enterprise cybersecurity initiatives, including security operations, incident response, risk management, employee security awareness, and policy development.
- Establish and maintain IT governance, compliance, and risk management programs to support regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT organization focused on customer service, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 12–14+ years of progressive Information Technology experience, including at least 3 years in a senior IT leadership role (IT Manager, Senior IT Manager, Director, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise technology strategies that support business growth and organizational objectives.
- Strong leadership and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience managing IT budgets, technology investments, vendor contracts, and procurement activities.
- Proven ability to manage third-party technology providers, including MSPs, MSSPs, and strategic vendors.
- Experience leading enterprise infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, business applications, and IT operations.
- Strong understanding of IT governance, compliance frameworks, cybersecurity best practices, and enterprise risk management.
- Experience identifying and implementing automation and AI technologies to improve business outcomes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project leadership skills.
- Experience in a private equity-backed or high-growth organization is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ITIL Foundation, or similar are highly preferred.
