Unified Communications / VoIP Engineer (Hybrid | Austin, TX)

We’re hiring a Unified Communications Engineer to support and evolve a large-scale, enterprise voice environment. This is a hybrid role based in Austin, offering a strong mix of hands-on engineering, troubleshooting, and strategic improvement work.

What You’ll Do

  • Support and enhance enterprise VoIP and unified communications platforms
  • Troubleshoot complex call routing, registration, and voice quality issues
  • Configure and manage SIP trunking and session border controller solutions
  • Contribute to high availability, disaster recovery, and security of voice services
  • Monitor performance, respond to incidents, and proactively address risks
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on design, implementation, and upgrades
  • Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and best practices
  • Provide escalation support and mentor team members
  • Drive continuous improvement across systems and processes

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise VoIP or unified communications
  • Strong understanding of dial plans, call routing, and voice architecture
  • Experience troubleshooting SIP-based environments and voice gateways
  • Knowledge of QoS and network fundamentals supporting voice traffic
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, always-on environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience in SD-WAN or hybrid network environments
  • Exposure to cloud or hybrid calling platforms
  • Familiarity with UC monitoring/management tools
  • Scripting or automation experience (Python, Ansible, etc.)
  • Understanding of security or compliance frameworks
