Staff Accountant

Compensation: $75,000 – $80,000 base + Discretionary Bonus

The HT Group has partnered with a growing manufacturing organization located in Northeast Houston (onsite) in the search for a qualified Staff Accountant to support its day-to-day accounting and financial operations. This is a hands-on position with broad exposure across the accounting function and the opportunity to work closely with senior financial leadership. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This role is particularly well suited for an accountant who enjoys taking ownership of transactional accounting, reconciliations, and month-end activities while gaining additional exposure to manufacturing and inventory accounting. Bilingual (Spanish/English) proficiency would be a huge plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions.
- Process cash receipts, vendor invoices, credits, and account adjustments.
- Prepare production and inventory-related accounting entries.
- Perform bank, general ledger, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules.
- Support inventory reconciliations and investigate transactional discrepancies.
- Reconcile customer and vendor accounts and resolve outstanding items.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with financial reporting, audit requests, and other accounting needs.
- Help improve accounting procedures, controls, and transaction accuracy as the organization continues to grow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of accounting experience required.
- Experience with AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting required.
- Intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills highly preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Manufacturing or distribution industry experience is highly preferred.
