Title: Salesforce Business Analyst – Private Equity
Location: New York, NY.
Duration: Long Term Contract.
Position Summary:
A leading global private equity firm is seeking a hands-on Salesforce Business Analyst to join its Product team in Manhattan. This role supports an active Salesforce data migration initiative and ongoing CRM operations across multiple workstreams. The ideal candidate brings deep Salesforce platform knowledge, strong data skills, financial services or private equity domain experience, and the ability to work independently with business and technical stakeholders. This is not a project management role. It is a roll-up-your-sleeves BA seat where you own the data mappings, write the requirements, build the JIRA tickets, and drive deliverables across teams.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead data migration efforts into Salesforce, including mapping companies, contacts, and business entities to Salesforce objects
- Build and maintain Excel-based data mapping files using formulas (VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, data validation) for field analysis, de-duplication, and data quality resolution
- Write clear, comprehensive requirements documentation (BRDs, FRDs, user stories) with technical permutations and acceptance criteria
- Create and manage JIRA tickets (Epics, Stories, Tasks) that accurately capture scope and enable developers to build without ambiguity
- Work with software developers and QA engineers to understand deployment processes, sequence work, and meet deadlines
- Engage directly with internal business stakeholders to understand processes, workflows, and data needs, and translate those into structured deliverables
- Take detailed meeting notes and translate them into actionable documentation and open item trackers
- Support 2-3 concurrent initiatives simultaneously, balancing priorities across workstreams
- Create presentations and write effective status communications for leadership and project stakeholders
- Prototype reports and dashboards in Salesforce to validate solutions with business users
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, private equity, or alternative investments
- Salesforce platform experience: understanding of objects, data model, CRM concepts, reports, and dashboards
- Strong Excel proficiency: formulas (VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, XLOOKUP), pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation. Must be comfortable building data mapping files, not hard-coding values
- Data mapping and data migration experience: source-to-target mapping, data profiling, data quality remediation, de-duplication
- Requirements documentation experience: BRDs, FRDs, user stories with permutations and acceptance criteria
- JIRA proficiency: creating and managing Epics, Stories, and Tasks; backlog grooming; sprint planning support
- SQL or BI tool experience (Power BI, Tableau) for data analysis and reporting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills: ability to present to business stakeholders and write clear, effective emails
- Self-directed work style: ability to identify gaps, resolve issues proactively, and deliver complete work without constant oversight
- US-based and authorized to work in the United States
- Available to work onsite in Manhattan several days per month up to 4+ days per week in office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Salesforce Administrator
- Direct experience at a PE firm, hedge fund, or alternative investment manager
- Understanding of fund structures, investor relations, capital calls, or fund operations
- Experience with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud or Experience Cloud
- Data governance or data quality management experience
- Familiarity with Salesforce Data Loader or similar data import tools
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment where consultants are held to the same standard as full-time employees
