The HT Group has partnered with a client in Port Arthur in search of a Draftsman. You’ll create technical drawings and models with SolidWorks software. This will be a contract to hire or direct hire opportunity. Schedule is Monday – Thursday 6:00am-4:00pm, Friday 6:00am-2:00pm. Salary ranging from $25hr-$30hr DOE.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 2D and 3D models in SolidWorks
- Collaborate with team to understand project needs and translate concepts to technical drawings
- Ensure accuracy, review for errors, modify, and comply with drafting standards
- Generate BOMs
- Participate in design reviews to optimize manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
- Assist in documenting design processes for project records
Requirements:
- Drafting Technology degree or equivalent
- Proficient in SolidWorks for 2D and 3D
- Knowledge of AutoCAD – a plus
- Familiarity with manufacturing – preferred
- Strong grasp of mechanical principles
- Effective communicator and collaborator
