The HT Group has partnered with an Austin-based life insurance services client in the search for a qualified Director of Commissions with previous experience working with large 1099/independent agent populations for an immediate, growth-created need. Our client is looking for a strategic leader with strong acumen in contracts and varying commission structures to lead a team of 5. This individual will be onsite and will be based in our client’s Northwest Austin offices.
Direct Hire – $130K – $140K+ solid benefits – Onsite – NW Austin location
What you will do:
- Reviews and approves all aspects of the operations and agent contracting process for US and international life insurance business.
- Implement operational frameworks designed to build and enhance the agent experience with a focus on customer service, ease of doing business and building long-term relationships with agents, producers, and cross-functional teams.
- Supervise the licensing process i.e., onboarding, reinstatement, or termination of agents and producers. Ensure accuracy or improve data quality of agent information in internal applications and systems.
- Serves as the team’s primary point of contact for all agent/producer related inquiries including but not limited to appointments, licenses, compliance with state requirements, and act as a liaison between independent agents and internal stakeholders.
- Implement commission/incentive processing policies and procedures
- Serves as subject matter expert on company contracting policies, commission payment structure, policy application related fees, bonuses and return items.
- Reviews all independent consultant commission disbursements generated by the company following appropriate internal controls for domestic, home service and international market.
- Supervise and provide mentorship to junior team members. Create key operating procedures to support knowledge transfer and back-up functions.
- Create and maintain key performance metrics, develop reporting/dashboards to Senior Management on a regular basis.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in Business or HR fields preferred
- 8+ years of experience in a similar commissions and contracts-focused role in an insurance setting required
- Minimum 6 years experience in process and people management facets required
- Must have experience in the insurance space working with commissioned field agents
- Experience with commissions-specific software programs
- Experience providing detailed reporting and managing KPIs and success metrics
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
