Special Systems Assistant Project Manager
Teledata / Special Systems Division
About the Role
We’re looking for a Special Systems Assistant Project Manager to support our Teledata project team. Working under a Lead Project Manager, you’ll help drive projects across account management, planning, procurement, and labor coordination — gaining hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle while helping deliver work safely, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a great opportunity for someone with field supervisory or Teledata construction experience who’s ready to grow into greater project management responsibility.
What You’ll Do
- Support five key project components: account management, project management, project planning, material procurement, and labor coordination
- Partner with the Lead PM to identify critical path activities and prepare supporting documentation for approval
- Assist with project preplanning — reviewing plans and specs, budgeting, job cost entry, scheduling, document preparation, and productivity monitoring
- Help with job cost projections, contract interpretation, and attend project meetings as needed
- Keep the Lead PM and other managers informed on project operations to maintain a shared understanding across the team
- Uphold company mission, vision, values, safety standards, and policies in every task
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned or as they naturally arise, with a strong work ethic and follow-through
- Maintain clear, effective communication with the Lead PM and staff to ensure expectations are met
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of field supervisory experience; 5+ years working and studying in the Teledata construction industry preferred
- Working knowledge of estimating and field engineering a plus
- Completion of a Teledata Apprenticeship or equivalent required
- Basic knowledge of Data Systems, Physical Security Systems, and AV Systems; BICSI certification a plus
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, proposals, and project specifications
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both office and field staff
- Professional appearance and a friendly, client-ready demeanor with clients, vendors, and staff
- Proficiency with Word, Outlook, and the ability to learn related software and systems
