Senior Electrical Estimator (Mission Critical)

Compensation: $92,160 to $128,000 base, plus bonus and comprehensive benefits
About the Opportunity
Our client is a 100% employee-owned electrical contractor with more than 60 years of stability and a growing mission critical portfolio. They are hiring a Senior Estimator to lead complete electrical estimates on data center and mission critical projects, from initial scope development through final bid review.
This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to division leadership, business development, and preconstruction. The right person is as comfortable leading a bid review as they are mentoring a junior estimator.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare complete electrical estimates for mission critical projects, including all quotations and subcontracts
- Interpret design drawings and specifications across civil, structural, architectural, and mechanical disciplines
- Schedule and lead estimating kickoff meetings, pre-bid reviews, and final bid reviews with the estimating team
- Review electrical and low voltage systems specifications, attend pre-bid meetings and job walks, and define scope of work
- Accurately estimate labor, materials, and administrative costs
- Develop scope documents and bid leveling packages, and level bidders to ensure complete scope and accurate pricing
- Collaborate with business development and division leadership on bid strategy for each opportunity
- Lead small estimating teams on large pursuits and assist with resource scheduling
- Participate in interview prep and customer interviews
- Maintain detailed records of estimate revisions to support open book projects
- Identify and develop estimating standards
- Mentor and develop estimating talent, and contribute to training programs
What You Bring
- 8+ years in electrical conceptual estimating, low voltage estimating, and design/build estimating
- Working knowledge of National Electrical Code requirements
- Strong computerized estimating skills; Accubid or Enterprise experience is a plus
- Proficiency with Bluebeam for estimating and construction purposes
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Two year degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience training and mentoring junior estimators preferred
- Clear written and verbal communication, with presentation skills a strong plus
- Ability to manage multiple pursuits and deadlines with accuracy
