Interim Controller or VP-Finance
Location: Austin, TX Area (Remote/Limited Travel)
Compensation: $85-95/hr (DOE)

The HT Group has recently partnered with a private equity-backed medical manufacturing company in the search for an experienced Interim Controller or VP-Finance to stabilize and lead the organization’s accounting and finance function during a critical stage of growth and operational improvement.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys rolling up their sleeves to solve complex financial and operational challenges. The selected consultant will serve as the company’s senior finance leader and sole accounting resource while helping establish scalable financial processes and reporting. What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Serve as the organization’s senior finance leader and primary accounting resource.
- Manage all day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting.
- Lead month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Review, clean up, and restate historical standard costing data where necessary.
- Reconcile manufacturing production or MRP system data with QuickBooks (or similar ERP/general ledger systems).
- Develop meaningful KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting to improve operational visibility.
- Partner closely with ownership and executive leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations.
- Evaluate and help lead ERP vendor selection and future system implementation efforts.
- Establish scalable accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a VP of Finance, Controller, or senior finance leader
- Extensive manufacturing accounting experience (medical device preferred)
- Deep expertise in standard cost accounting within a production environment
- Experience cleaning up and restating historical standard costs
- Hands-on experience reconciling manufacturing/MRP systems with QuickBooks or similar accounting platforms
- Ability to operate independently as the company’s lead finance professional
- Prior experience working within a private equity-backed business
