QC Supervisor (Mechanical, Duct, Piping)

Location: Taylor, TX | Reports to: Quality Manager | Team: Quality

About the Role
Our client, a global EPC firm building a major semiconductor plant in Taylor, TX, is seeking a QC Supervisor to lead on-site quality control for mechanical, duct, and piping (MDP) work. You’ll supervise inspections and quality activities across construction teams and subcontractors, keeping the project compliant, well documented, and ready for client inspection.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage MDP inspection progress, including reviewing inspection documents and confirming inspection requests on site
  • Flag deficiencies and non-compliance with codes, specs, and regulations, and follow up on corrective changes
  • Give final confirmation before inspections are requested for client supervision, and manage the inspection fail ratio
  • Own nonconformance (NCR and punch) management, resolving issues quickly and putting preventive measures in place
  • Manage quality records, document reviews (ITPs, procedures), qualifications, and subcontractor quality activities
  • Perform regular quality checks on external shop work and products
  • Check material storage conditions and subcontractor status, and remove materials that don’t meet quality standards
  • Inspect incoming materials and the quality of materials subcontractors use
  • Monitor City of Taylor inspections as required by the authorities having jurisdiction

What You Bring

  • 5-10 years of experience in MDP work and construction quality control
  • Required: Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
  • Working knowledge of ASME, API, and related codes and standards
  • Proven experience working with drawings
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through, with a proactive, risk-aware mindset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
  • Positive, constructive attitude with openness to feedback
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred

  • QA/QC experience
  • Experience on projects over $50M
  • Oil and gas or semiconductor plant experience
  • Trimble software experience
  • International or multicultural experience

Additional Requirements

  • Able to commute to the field office
  • Available for overtime and weekend work as needed
