Senior Oracle EBS R12 Forms & Manufacturing Developer
Engagement Length: 1–2 years
Environment: On-Prem Oracle EBS R12.0.6 (mandatory)
Location: Onsite Austin, Texas for the first couple of months and then hybrid thereafter.
Position Overview
We are seeking a senior, hands-on Oracle E-Business Suite R12 technical developer to support and enhance a highly customized, on-premises Oracle environment.
This position will focus heavily on Oracle Forms, PL/SQL, Oracle Workflow and manufacturing business processes. The environment contains extensive custom functionality developed over many years, so the successful candidate must be comfortable analyzing existing code, tracing complex business logic and learning undocumented customizations from an established development team.
The primary objective is to improve operator efficiency by automating processes that currently require significant manual interaction with Oracle Forms. This includes moving transactions and system-generated information across manufacturing, inventory, order management and shipping processes with minimal user intervention.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, troubleshoot and enhance existing customized Oracle Forms.
- Design and develop new Oracle Forms functionality where required.
- Review existing Forms, PL/SQL packages, workflows, database objects and interfaces to understand established business logic.
- Automate manual processes involving manufacturing work centers, WIP, BOM, Inventory, Order Management and Shipping.
- Develop and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers and concurrent programs.
- Customize and troubleshoot Oracle Workflows supporting manufacturing and operational processes.
- Build and support integrations using Oracle standard APIs, open interfaces and custom interfaces.
- Develop enhancements that move transactions and information between EBS modules with minimal manual intervention.
- Integrate external, system-generated or machine-generated data into Oracle EBS processes where applicable.
- Diagnose production issues involving Oracle Forms, workflows, interfaces, concurrent programs and backend database logic.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement sustainable technical fixes.
- Support existing custom applications, web modules, OAF components and operational interfaces.
- Document custom Forms, workflows, interfaces, automation processes and technical dependencies.
- Work closely with the existing Oracle development team to acquire institutional knowledge and ensure continuity.
- Provide knowledge transfer and technical support across development, testing, UAT and production environments.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience developing and modifying Oracle Forms within Oracle EBS R12.
- Strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development experience.
- Experience with Oracle Workflow Builder, including workflow customization and troubleshooting.
- Technical experience supporting Oracle manufacturing processes, particularly:
- Work in Process
- Bills of Material
- Inventory
- Work centers and shop-floor transactions
- Material movements and manufacturing business flows
- Experience working in a heavily customized, on-premises Oracle EBS environment.
- Ability to trace business logic across Forms, PL/SQL, workflows, APIs, interface tables and concurrent programs.
- Experience developing or supporting RICEW components, including reports, interfaces, conversions, extensions and workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to understand legacy code and work effectively when documentation is limited.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn existing customizations from incumbent developers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Order Management and Shipping Execution.
- Experience automating end-to-end processes across Manufacturing, Inventory, OM and Shipping.
- OAF, Oracle Reports and BI/XML Publisher experience.
- Experience with Oracle standard and custom APIs.
- REST service or Oracle Integrated SOA Gateway experience.
- Experience integrating Oracle EBS with WMS, MES, TMS, 3PL, carrier or shop-floor systems.
- EDI or eCommerce Gateway experience.
- Oracle-to-SAP or SAP-to-Oracle integration experience.
- Unix shell scripting and SQL performance-tuning experience.
- Experience supporting older Oracle EBS releases and legacy development tools.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior Oracle EBS technical developer who has remained actively involved in Oracle Forms, PL/SQL and Workflow development.
This person does not need immediate knowledge of every existing customization. However, they must possess the technical depth to examine legacy Forms and database code, understand manufacturing business processes, learn the current architecture and gradually assume ownership of complex customized functionality.
Candidates whose recent experience is primarily Oracle Fusion Cloud, solution architecture or team management without current hands-on Forms development are unlikely to be successful in this position.
