The HT Group is partnering with a growing automotive aftermarket manufacturer and retailer to hire a Director of Inventory Planning & Purchasing. This leadership position will oversee inventory planning, purchasing, sourcing, and supplier relationships while developing strategies that improve product availability, working capital, profitability, and overall business performance.
Location: Wadsworth Ohio (Onstite)
Comp: $120-150k base + up to 10% bonus
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of purchasing and inventory professionals, establishing clear goals, priorities, processes, and performance expectations.
- Develop and execute inventory planning, purchasing, and replenishment strategies aligned with sales forecasts, customer demand, and financial objectives.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships, including negotiations, business reviews, performance expectations, and corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory levels and performance, balancing product availability, carrying costs, inventory turns, and excess or obsolete inventory.
- Partner with Sales, Finance, Operations, and Product teams to improve forecasting, demand planning, and overall supply chain performance.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to identify opportunities for improved availability, margins, efficiency, and working capital.
- Identify and mitigate supplier, sourcing, tariff, and supply continuity risks.
- Drive process improvements and leverage technology, automation, and AI to improve purchasing and inventory efficiency.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, inventory planning, or supply chain.
- Proven experience leading and developing teams.
- Strong experience with high-SKU inventory environments, demand forecasting, and supplier management.
- Strong knowledge of tariffs and their impact on purchasing, sourcing, and product costs required.
- Experience in the automotive industry or a strong personal interest in automotive products preferred.
- Strong financial, analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Experience developing KPIs and performance-management processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience with an MRP, demand planning, or purchasing ERP system.
