The HT Group is partnering with a respected utilities organization to find an experienced Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant Laboratory Supervisor to lead laboratory operations at a large-scale regional treatment facility. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing laboratory functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting plant operations in a complex industrial and petrochemical environment. The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in an Earth Science discipline, has 2+ years of experience in verifiable water or wastewater laboratory experience, and is able to work onsite M-F in Beaumont, TX.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise daily laboratory operations, including scheduling, training, and performance management of lab staff
- Serve as the TCEQ-approved Technical Manager and Quality Manager, maintaining NELAP certification
- Oversee laboratory QA/QC programs, including PT studies and regulatory compliance initiatives
- Review and validate analytical data, ensuring accurate reporting for DMRs and other regulatory submissions
- Manage laboratory budgets, purchasing, and vendor relationships for external lab services
- Coordinate internal and external audits (TCEQ, NELAC, and industry-specific audits)
- Ensure compliance with regulatory programs including TPDES, NESHAP, RCRA, and other environmental standards
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
- Minimum of 2+ years of wastewater or water laboratory experience
- Strong knowledge of:
- Standard Methods for Water/Wastewater Analysis
- QA/QC procedures and regulatory reporting (TCEQ, NELAP/NELAC)
- Laboratory instrumentation, calibration, and maintenance
- Proven leadership experience supervising lab personnel and managing workflows
- Ability to interpret data, prepare reports, and communicate findings effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management systems
