Senior IT Security & Patch Management Specialist
Job Responsibilities
- Apply operating system, application, and security patches in accordance with established policies and proactively monitor the environment for patching and anti-virus compliance.
- Analyze patches, security updates, and anti-virus releases to ensure compatibility with customer and internal infrastructure environments prior to deployment.
- Monitor systems for security posture, vulnerabilities, and compliance issues, escalating risks as appropriate.
- Support secure system configurations and contribute to continuous improvement of security operations processes.
- Collaborate with IT and application teams to plan, test, and implement security updates with minimal operational impact.
Required Skills
- Strong working knowledge of enterprise network hardware, operating systems, and network protocols.
- Hands-on experience with security patching, anti-virus platforms, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Ability to analyze technical security issues and recommend practical remediation strategies.
Education, Experience, and Licensing
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in IT security or network operations within a large enterprise environment.
- Practical experience with a broad range of security and network technologies, including anti-virus solutions, intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls, Active Directory, SIEM platforms, vulnerability assessment tools, and related security technologies.
- Familiarity with network- and host-based security tools such as scanning and assessment tools, intrusion detection systems, and other enterprise security software.
- Experience gathering requirements, analyzing systems, developing solutions, testing changes, and documenting implementations in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues via telephone and remote access tools.
- Experience supporting SAP NetWeaver® portal security, including role-based access control and single sign-on.
- Experience creating and managing user email accounts and distribution groups in Microsoft Exchange and modifying security group memberships.
- Experience installing and supporting new software releases, system upgrades, anti-virus solutions, and security patches.
