Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading medium to large, complex information technology initiatives from planning through delivery. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, while aligning technology solutions with enterprise strategy, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of medium to large projects with moderate to high complexity.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, issues, and dependencies; provide timely and accurate status reporting to executive and stakeholder audiences.
- Coordinate project activities across business units, IT teams, end users, external vendors, and related project teams.
- Translate business strategies, objectives, and requirements into actionable project plans and supporting IT solutions.
- Ensure alignment of all system, technical, and application initiatives with the enterprise vision and architecture.
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to expedite delivery, resolve conflicts, and improve overall organizational performance using tact and diplomacy.
- Direct and oversee design, development, testing, and documentation activities throughout all phases of the application and system development lifecycle.
- Maintain awareness of industry best practices, organizational processes, and applicable legislative or regulatory requirements relevant to assigned projects.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency with project management and productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, Visio, Microsoft Project, or equivalent project management platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of project management concepts, practices, and methodologies within information technology environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile development principles, with hands-on experience applying them in delivery teams.
- Demonstrated experience working within the Scrum framework; Scrum Master experience is highly desirable.
- Exceptional oral, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Proven leadership, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of five (5) years of information technology project management experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or comparable Agile certification preferred.
