Senior Desktop IT Support Engineer
Job Responsibilities
- Advise end users on appropriate hardware and software purchases and upgrades in alignment with technical standards and budget constraints.
- Install, configure, and support new software releases, operating system upgrades, and security patches.
- Provide advanced desktop and endpoint support to ensure system reliability and user productivity.
- Partner with Technical Services teams to maintain secure, compliant desktop environments.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop hardware and software.
- Experience managing network user accounts and security, including assigning security profiles and enforcing access controls in accordance with established Technical Services procedures.
- Ability to establish, maintain, and monitor logon credentials, access permissions, and security rules for network files and database systems.
- Skilled in using system and network monitoring tools to detect issues that may impact system availability and to escalate findings to appropriate Technical Services personnel.
- Strong understanding of endpoint security best practices and compliance requirements.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience (minimum of three (3) years combined).
- At least one (1) year of experience in information services or IT support.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical support to end users via phone, remote access, and on-site troubleshooting.
- Experience analyzing and resolving PC hardware, operating system, and application issues across multiple support channels.
- Experience performing small-scale wiring projects and coordinating equipment installations, relocations, and removals.
- Experience delivering end-user training on basic software, hardware, and Internet functionality.
