The HT Group has a renewable energy client in Austin TX looking for a Senior Control Systems Engineer who is detail-oriented, proactive, and technically skilled to lead SCADA design, configuration, and commissioning for utility-scale renewable projects.

$72-$81/hr DOE
Responsibilities:
- Lead SCADA design, configuration, and commissioning for individual projects while mentoring junior engineers.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineering teams to ensure SCADA requirements are met and project timelines are achieved.
- Review project contracts and provide technical input on contract language.
- Define technical requirements based on grid codes, standards, and contractual obligations.
- Develop and review technical documentation, including project exhibits, scope of work, and plant control narratives.
- Oversee control system vendors and integrators, ensuring project deliverables align with operational needs.
- Implement networking design, including IP addressing, VLANs, and RTU configuration.
- Support the commissioning of substation equipment, switches, and plant networks.
- Analyze operational data from battery plants and drive improvements in SCADA strategy.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in control systems and SCADA platforms (any industry).
- Expertise in networking design, including fiber/ethernet, switch, and VLAN configuration.
- Hands-on experience configuring RTUs or plant controllers (software development experience a plus).
- Proven ability to develop technical documentation, including scope of work, functional descriptions, and control narratives.
- Experience commissioning networking and plant controls, as well as overseeing contractors.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Background in renewable energy or power industries is a plus.
