Our client, a leading manufacturing organization in the Cleveland area, is seeking a Manufacturing Planner to support production operations by maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), updating shop routers, and coordinating cross-functional planning activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong ERP and manufacturing process experience to join a high-performing operations team.
The role begins as a 3–4 month contract with the possibility of conversion to a permanent position based on performance and business need.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, create, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) in Sage 500 to ensure accuracy and alignment with engineering specifications and production requirements.
- Update and manage shop routers, ensuring all operations, labor steps, and work centers are properly sequenced and costed.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement/cost accountant teams to ensure manufacturing documentation supports current processes and configurations.
- Identify and correct discrepancies in part numbers, routings, and BOM structures.
- Assist in new product introduction (NPI) by setting up initial BOMs and routers in coordination with engineering.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing planning, scheduling, or Manufacturing engineering
- Strong working knowledge of Sage 500
- Hands-on experience creating or maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and shop routers.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, work centers, and routing principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and related analytical tools.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
