The HT Group is partnering with a growing consumer goods entity based in SW Austin in the search for a qualified FP&A Analyst for an immediate need. This role will support the monthly financial close process, investor reporting, gross margin and pricing analysis, and the development of key performance indicators across products and channels. The role will be primarily FP&A-focused but with some accounting crossover (close and reporting features). This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact, contribute to strategic decision-making, and work closely with both senior finance and accounting leadership.
Location: SW Austin; 4 days/week onsite and remote on Fridays
Compensation: Up to $100K base + bonus/benefits
Key Responsibilities
Monthly Financial Close
- Support the month-end close process by preparing and posting journal entries related to cost of goods sold (COGS), fixed assets, leases, and other general ledger accounts
- Assist with account reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules
- Partner with accounting to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for senior leadership
- Analyze financial performance, including variance analysis, trend identification, and risk/opportunity assessment
- Evaluate performance at both segment and consolidated levels
- Support preparation of presentations for executive leadership, board members, and external stakeholders
Strategic & Cross-Functional Initiatives
- Support product pricing analysis, including competitive benchmarking and margin evaluation
- Analyze the financial impact of strategic initiatives, operational changes, and market factors
- Evaluate potential business scenarios and their impact on consolidated financial performance
- Participate in cross-functional projects and financial deep dives to improve profitability and performance
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, finance, financial modeling, or FP&A
- Previous investment banking or internal private equity experience preferred
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent communication and presentation skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and problem-solving ability
- Strong work ethic with a results-oriented mindset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) preferred
- Experience in consumer products or a related industry is a plus
