The HT Group is partnering with a well-established community bank in Bastrop, Texas to hire a Credit Analyst for an immediate opening. This role works closely with commercial loan officers to prepare high-quality loan packages for presentation to the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable interacting with customers, bank staff, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities Credit Analysis & Loan Support
- Review and analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data for new, renewal, and extension commercial loans.
- Prepare financial spreads, summaries, and credit analyses for loan officers and loan committees.
- Identify when additional information or deeper investigation is required and obtain it from appropriate sources.
- Maintain updated financial information in loan files; monitor compliance with financial reporting requirements.
- Document trends and changes in borrowers’ financial conditions.
- Evaluate existing credit grades and recommend changes when appropriate.
- Join loan officers on customer calls as needed.
Reporting & Administrative Support
- Prepare reports for Board packets and statistical lending reports upon request.
- Assist loan officers in preparing quarterly Criticized Loan Action Plans.
Compliance & Bank Standards
- Maintain current working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements and all relevant banking regulations.
- Uphold all bank policies, confidentiality standards, and professional conduct expectations.
- Represent the bank within the community and participate in appropriate events and organizations.
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance and professional attire.
Qualifications Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of coursework and relevant experience.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to remain objective and independent.
- Ability to interpret and apply written policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding loan documents and financial data.
- Working knowledge of key financial and credit concepts (e.g., depreciation, amortization, liquidity ratios, debt coverage ratio, debt yield).
- Ability to identify financial trends and potential credit risks through financial spreads.
- Excellent communication skills — able to request, explain, and discuss financial information professionally with bank staff, regulators, customers, and tax preparers.
- Familiarity with commercial tax returns across various business entities.
- Proficiency in computer systems, including spreadsheets, word processing, and databases; strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills required.
