The HT Group is currently partnering with a global manufacturing entity in the search for a qualified Cost Accounting Analyst for an immediate contract opportunity with possibility of long-term conversion for the right individual. This role will support operations and finance teams with cost analysis, reporting, and process improvement. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a cross-functional environment and enjoys combining operational insights with financial rigor.
This individual will play a key role in ensuring accurate product costing, supporting month-end close activities, and driving analytical insights that enhance business decision-making.
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)
Compensation: $45–$55/hour (depending on experience)
Schedule: Full-time, 6–10 month contract (potential for extension or conversion)
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with operations to support day-to-day manufacturing and cost accounting activities
- Provide financial insights to assess risks and opportunities, identify cost drivers, and improve performance
- Analyze product costs, including BOMs, routings, and overhead allocations
- Co-lead quarterly and annual product cost updates
- Support quarterly and annual forecast processes related to inventory and direct materials
- Perform month-end close activities and variance analyses
- Monitor and close WIP jobs in accordance with close schedules
- Lead or assist with operational finance integration efforts and system improvements
- Develop automated reporting tools and dashboards to streamline analysis
- Prepare ad-hoc financial presentations for business reviews and leadership meetings
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of accounting or finance experience, with a focus on cost accounting or manufacturing finance
- Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP principles
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with Oracle or a large-scale ERP system
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
Preferred
- Experience with Hyperion (HFM) or similar consolidation/reporting tools
- Familiarity with data warehouse reporting and analytics tools
- Background in a global or multinational organization
