The HT Group has partnered with a premier, international engineering firm in the search for a qualified Business Development Manager with previous civil engineering or large-scale construction industry experience, for an immediate need. Our client is looking for a self-starter with solid public-sector relationships within the Southeast US region and with experience with joint ventures and partnering with multiple internal and external teams. This role will support major projects in Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida and will sit in the Atlanta area (relocation available).  The role will require about 20% travel within the region.

What you will do:

  • Develop and manage strategically important relationships that further business development activity with industry stakeholders and potential partners.
  • Build influential partnering relationships with both public and private clients, use network to fully understand client’s goals, objectives and business needs, anticipate future opportunities and develop client’s trust in our company.
  • Manage and participate in production of written proposals and assure compliance with all final proposal requirements.
  • Use market tools and create reports for specific market analysis.
  • Attend formal meetings with partners, concessionaires, clients and public sponsors.
  • Create, review and negotiate contract language with clients.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management required
  • Minimum 3+ years’ business development experience in the civil engineering or design-build industry within the Southeast US.
  • Experience in the preparation of RFQ and RFP documents for design-build projects.
  • Exhibits effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be flexible and able to effectively carry out assigned duties in varying and multicultural work environments, including overnight travel.
  • Provides a solid network of contacts and possess a strong knowledge of the industry 
  • Previous joint-venture experience highly desired.
