The HT Group is partnering with a global automotive manufacturing company to find an Assembly Process Engineer. This person will be responsible for supporting processes aligned with department needs and implementing systems to achieve and exceed assembly departmental goals. This is a great opportunity for an assembly engineering professional to gain experience working with an industry leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain value stream maps for manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate with APQP to ensure facility readiness during product launches
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce inventory and establish single-piece flow production systems
  • Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives such as 5S principles and Poke Yoka systems
  • Conduct time studies, monitor line balancing, and enhance manufacturing process to reduce production costs
  • Review component and assembly designs to ensure efficient assembly
  • Oversee RPN reductions and ensure auxiliary equipment is in proper working order
  • Develop requirements for and secure funding for necessary plant equipment
  • Support environmental, health, and safety objectives for a safe workplace
  • Train and mentor technicians, operators, and material processors to support Assembly goals
  • Support Division’s policies and business objectives

 
Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in technical field, preferably industrial engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of assembly process engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of automation controls and systems
  • Prior start up facility experience or product launch highly preferred
  • FMEA, SPC, DFMA, Control Plan, manufacturing, and workplace safety knowledge
  • Strong project management and cross functional collaboration skills
